Gratitude is a Funny Thing
Magic Carpet Yoga - Gratitude
In this Magic Carpet yoga class, we focus on being grateful and feeling our feelings.
Kathy reads the book aloud “Gratitude is a Funny Thing.”
The message of this book and class is that when you focus on being grateful your life is more joyful! We start by breathing in peace and breathing out love.
We do a series of traditional yoga poses such as sun salutation and peaceful warrior.
You and your child can follow along as we take a mindful journey to an ocean. Through yoga poses, we are able to imitate things they notice on their journey such as:
We imagine a wave coming over our heads taking our feelings and emotions with it.
The journey continues through a mindful visualization.
In this meditation, children breathe, relax and feel the earth, sun and light through their body as they move energy up and down and allow the body to completely unwind.
Interwoven in each class is a message are positive affirmations.
As always we end the class with “You are a bright and shining star!”
